There have been many amendments made in the Federal Making Home Affordable Program as announced by Obama. The Loan Modification Plan was aimed to help the homeowners who were at the verge of losing their homes because of not paying the mortgage payments. The sudden recession has melted down the real estate industry and total cost of the homes become so less, that the mortgage has been unaffordable. The government funded $75 billions to support such homeowners who were facing such a financial crisis.
Obama Loan Modification Plan was a $75 billion project for the homeowners who are facing the financial hardships and not able to pay the mortgage amount. The main purpose of this plan was to offer the reasonable and affordable rates of interest to pay back the mortgage loans they have taken before January, 2009.
There were certain Loan Modification Guidelines to match with for being eligible to get the benefits out of the program. The program has turned to be the boon for those who were struggling to repay the mortgage amount which was higher than the original cost of the home. Below given are some eligibility criteria of HAMP Loan Modification Rules:
- If the borrower is a defaulter or going to be a defaulter in coming days.
- The home, for which you are paying mortgage, must be on your name, and presently you must be staying therein.
- The first mortgage installment must be made before January 1, 2009.
- The balance of the unpaid mortgage amount must be less than $7,29,750.
- The current payment dues, including property tax, insurance and other dues must be more than the 31% of your gross income.
- Consult your lender and affirm, are you eligible to apply or not.
- Check the eligibility criteria of HAMP program.
- Arrange for the required documentation.
- Enclose the documents along with the correctly filled up refinancing mortgage loan form.
- Following Documents must be attached:
- Letter of Hardship
- Financial Statement
- Pay-check stubs and proof of the other incomes.
- Bank Statements of Lat two months.
- The tax return proof of Last two years.
- If you are unemployed then you will have to furnish the proof of Unemployment.
- Before submitting the form, make sure that you read all the instructions as mentioned in the application form.
Remember, this can be the best chance to avoid foreclosures and prevent your home. This is necessary that you furnished all the truthful information in the form because if during verification you are in fault, then the consequences may be very hard to cope with.
